15 adorable dogs in Halloween costumes

There’s nothing more adorable than seeing dogs in Halloween costumes. It’s the only day of the year where it’s sort of acceptable to spruce up our pooches – well in my view anyway! And that’s only if your dog is OK with being dressed up. Whether you’re transforming Fido into a Jedi master, a witch or a terrifying spider, these costumes are sure to blow the socks off your party guests this Halloween.

But first, just a quick note about making sure our dogs are happy for the spooky celebrations. Let’s be honest, dressing our dogs in Halloween costumes is more for us than it is for them. Not all dogs tolerate being put into an outfit. Some don’t mind all the bells and whistles, while others may go a little loopy with a simple accessory on their back.

My Loki is not exactly happy about having her winter coat on, let alone a full body costume with a hood and frilly bits. We’re limited to what she’ll wear on Halloween, but she’s fine if we stick with a wrap-around jumper or a swanky bandanna. But hey, we’re fine with that. We’d rather she’s happy and comfortable.

If you know your dog gets anxious or stressed when in clothing, go for something less oppressive like a ghostly bandanna or collar. If they don’t mind having a coat on for their walks in winter, your dog could be fine with a simple jumper costume like one of the outfits below. Never force your dog into a costume if they’re visibly unhappy. Consider what kind of outfit your dog will tolerate before you buy!

Without further ado, here’s my bumper list of 15 adorable dogs in Halloween costumes you might like to try this year.
